animal virus April 21, 2008
this stupid dumb influenza virus just landed on mucous layer. the neuraminidase enzyme help the cell to penetrate through the cell membrane. and the haemagglutinin happily bind to the specific surface of my cell. and yes, my stupid cells take in the viruses which entered via endocytosis. if my cells are acdic, the lipoprotein envelope will fuse with the lipid-bilayer of the vesicle, which will release viral rnps, enzymes and proteins into the cell cytoplasm. rna genome is then transcribed in my nucleus, with the help of rna dependent dna transcriptase. this will then be transported to the cytoplasm and translated to viral proteins. it is secreted through the golgi apparatus onto cell surface pr transported back to the nucleus to bind to viral rna to form new genome. new viral rna is encased in the capsid protein and then transported to sites at the cell surface where haemagglutinin and neuraminidase are incorporated into the cell membrane. mature viruses are released by budding and neuraminidase cleaves the sialic acid residues on host cells.
yes, i bore you.
