christmas eve/day December 25, 2009

christmas is supposed to be a time of thanksgiving so i want to thank god for everything he has given me (:

really thank god for mummy (: she always brings me orange juice when i am studying and makes me jog (and she constantly reminds me that i am morbidly fat. thankyouverymuch) she cheers me up with kiwi when i am staring at the stupid ppda notes and listen to my fact-of-the-day from physio/anat. and she always make it a point to pray with me before exams. <3 though we get to see each other lesser and lesser, but when she sms me, my heart will melt and go awwwww. mummy, i love you!

and to weixin, can you believe! we have been friends for 9 years (!?!?!?!?) our friendship, i must say, was not a very smooth sailing one. but praise the lord for watching over us and allow us to love one another (: the crazy things we do (kbox, baking, sleepover, benjamin buttons, anyotherbusiness) are too many to list!! (: JOGGING SOON YO.

thank god for bel, lemon, cheryl and wantheng (: i cant really remember when was the date we started hanging out so often that we become so tight <3 (vincent, dontbejealous) from strangers sitting in the lab to lunch buddies to library chao-muggers (ac library ftw) to number one 170 fans, we talked everything under the sun and do everything together. we wont get jealous over each other results or what not, but instead, we will encourage one other (:

gentle reminder: min jiang on 1st march. <3

special mention to annabel whom wont get sick of my face, house and yummy food, YOU ARE MY CHEMISTRY BUDDIEEEEE. please help me find my chem passion back ):

If you want to walk on the water, you gotta get out of the boat. December 4, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — vivien @ 8:09 pm

the book i am reading is about the above

so far, what i have read about why people do not want to walk on the water to where God is (and the storm is), and rather stay on the boat where it seems to be safer. The opp cost for staying in the boat is growth. we are thrown into situations where we will experience god and grow spiritually.

somewhere in the book, it says, ‘ we tend to construct manageable lives with some security and predictability to maintain the illusion that we are in control.’

that struck me. (as usual, abt my course of studies)

life will be definitely less predictable and more adventurous but i will get to experience god and walk closer to him! (just like in taiwan where we were so vulnerable and afraid). there, i will have nothing to cling on to except my lord and i think it will be a great experience! (:

shall decide again after reading the book (:
